I just finished this book, and I have to say I was very disappointed. Although the character development was excellent, it was pretty much nearly the entire book. The “ancestor” does not even appear in the book until close to the end, and there was very little horror in the entire book. Just a lot of drama, and a bit of humor thrown in. I was bored with this book, I was expecting a good scary read, but it just wasn’t there. Especially after reading everyone else’s review on how they thought this was his best novel, I was totally let down as far as the horror (or even Sci Fi) genre went.
