Herbert’s Dune meets Banks’ The Player of Games in The Phantom of the Earth, a spellbinding science fiction epic set deep underground after the fall of civilization on Earth’s surface.
Here are the five thought-provoking postapocalyptic stories that lovers of science fiction can’t stop talking about, gathered together in one volume for the first time. The futuristic theories, conspiracies, political maneuvering, and characters within these visionary tales will stay with you long after you finish.
In the Great Commonwealth of Beimeni, a subterranean civilization in North America, expansion long ago gave way to peace and prosperity in the face of the history’s most devastating plague. Immortality is the reward for service and loyalty in Beimeni, a place where the physical blends with the metaphysical and power consolidates in the hands of those with a genetic edge. The fissures first spread slowly, then swiftly, until now the Great Commonwealth finds itself on the brink of economic devastation, challenged by forces from within that know its secrets and its crimes.
At the center of the conflict lie the Selendias of Piscator, founders of the resistance with an uncanny connection to the zeropoint field; and the BarĂ£o Strike Team, three researchers tasked with finding a cure to the Reassortment Strain, the plague that nearly wiped humanity from the Earth. Traveling from the uninhabitable but pristine surface to the habitable but inhospitable underground, this is a story about dedication to dreams, battle for survival, discovery and connection, song and celebration, undoing past misdeeds, and sacrifice for the greater good.

iTunes:
Sometimes people have trouble playing long books, like remembering where you stopped and starting over every time. If so, just split as you like.
Merry x-mas!

As long as the file is under 2GB, standard mp3 players that use FAT32 can play them. If playing the file on a comp, the audio player like VLC, MPC, etc should be able to play them unless the OS is lower than XP there might be a problem.
Though I wish mp3 players on the market would support exFAT already. Using formatter apps to convert memory cards over 32GB for use gets time consumming over time. Not to mention the occational fake/defective memory card is annoying, either spitting back errors or goes corrupt real fast.

I use a number of free tools I’ve downloaded to handle the many different situations to create mp3 that run on my mp3 players.
SoundTaxi (a paid program, but you can find torrents to download hacked versions) does a great job of reducing the bitrate without loosing too much quality. Then again, it’s an audiobook, not music. :-)
MP3 Splitter - splits large files into smaller chunks, but I recommend going with a high bitrate than lower because the sound quality of the free version is lost. So raise it in this tool and reduce it with SoundTaxi.
M4A_Converter can change the M4A and M4B into MP3 formats and allows for sizing the files too.
Shuangs Audio Joiner this works well to join MP3 files into one file, although MP3 Splitter will do that too. Great if you rip down CDs and then don’t want in some cases hundreds of files to mess with.
And then I wrote a tool to handle bulk updating of MP3 files tags to get them in the format that I want them for my simple MP3 player. But you can find several free apps for these online.

I usually just skip bad books but I had to write. I haven’t listened to a worse book in such a long time that it isn’t even funny. Who gave this guy the go ahead to write 1, let stand 5 books. If you like scifi and such, DON’T DL this…
