Paolo paints a bleak, yet disturbingly realistic, view of the future. His world is completely compelling and should get the same recognition as Alastair Reynolds’ “Revelation Space” creation.
You must read “The Yellow Card Man” short story before “The Windup Girl” as they are somewhat connected.
Many thanks for introducing me to his work, I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a finely crafted story set in an immersive setting.
