For those who do not know how to open chapterized m4b. file to see the chapters, here are some suggestions:
1. On a PC, try downloading VLC player, QuickTime Player, or iTunes. They are all free and easily found on google. If you’re a movie-lover, I recommend VLC Player, and if you’re a music-lover, iTunes is recommended.
- With VLC player, open the m4b. file with the program. Once it starts playing, click the tab ‘Playback’ at the top left, then move the pointer to ‘Chapter’, and you’ll be able to see the chapters.
- With iTunes, first you should drag the m4b. file into the program. Once it’s in the ‘Audiobooks’ menu, double click to play it. You then will see a ‘Chapters’ tab appearing on the menu tab at the top.
- With QuickTime Player, open the m4b. file with the program. You should be able to see the chapters right away on the right.
2. On Apple devices, it should be nearly the same with using iTunes. Once you transfer the m4b. file from your PC to your devices through iTunes, the rest should be simple.
3. On Android devices, try Smart Audiobook Player, Akimbo Audiobook Player, or Mortplayer. I never use any of them, so I’m not certain about this, but I’ve heard highly of those.

The Maze Runner is a young-adult post-apocalyptic science fiction trilogy by James Dashner. The trilogy consists of The Maze Runner (2007), The Scorch Trials (2009), and The Death Cure (2011). James Dashner has also written a prequel to The Maze Runner entitled The Kill Order (2012).

@Steven: I suggest using iTunes or Quick-time player to open these files, Quick-time player preferable. Just google them, they’re free. Quick-time player can show you the chapters as well, so you can easily move to any chapter you want.

If you want to play M4B on an Android system I recommend:
Akimbo Audiobook Player
Plays M4b’s just like iTunes
It also plays M4A and MP3 and I think FLAC also

To change from m4b to m4a is the simplest thing. Right click on a track and choose “rename”. Change the “b” to an “a” and now the track is the same as an mp3. Some versions of Windows will not let you see the file extensions (.m4b), try it on another computer. I have converted 1000’s of tracks this way. Hope this helps!

It is only a simple option in windows that you have to disable. Windows, by default, will hide the file extensions that are associated with an application.

Download was quick and without trouble. Started with Kill order — not the best audio quality, but it’s free so I guess I shouldn’t complain.

Use Format Factory at http://www.pcfreetime.com/, it is freeware program that converts one format to another. works on everthing except .AA files. that you need iTunes to covert that to mp3 and then you can use Format Factory. Some times you need to convert to another form then to final form, but FormatFactory works 99.98% of the time. AND It’s FREE.
