This book is simply awful. The writing is forced and dull, but that isn’t why its awful-
in the first ten minutes you hear black, white, lesbian, non binary, racist…every characters race and sexual identity is specified, the white characters are belittled caricatures, the protagonist is a snarky, sarcastic racist powerful black wahman lesbian….jfc, you’d be hard pressed to find anything les palatable than this book.
If you are a rabid rainbow coalition activist, you will like this. It’s not SciFi, it’s LGBTQ Teen Fiction with a smattering of racism.

i finished this book tonight. Although there are quite a few mentions of the main character being in love with another woman, I don’t remember anyone mentioning she was black. It certainly wasn’t an essential part of her or anyone else’s character as to what race they were.
The main character doesn’t go around doing “lesbian things” to help the LGBTQ community. She’s only in it for herself. That’s the whole point of her character’s journey in the book.
If you like stories about time travel and evil corporations trying to get even more at the expense of normal people, give this book a shot.
If you like stories about minorities rising up against straight white men, then this book isn’t for you. It’s your standard adventure story and that’ll have to be enough.
