It began with his stage show. Robert Lloyd, TV presenter, actor, and comedian is well known in Australia and not at all known outside. He has been playing the Doctor for over ten years, mostly in stage plays and skits.
In 2013, he decided to make a series of audio dramas with Preachrs Podcast, and somehow got Lisa Bowerman (Bernice Summerfield!) to come on board an be his companion the alien hunter Kate. I have decided to make this “Series 1″ for this collection.
Robert Lloyd then help form Illusionist Productions and made three wonderful seasons of audio dramas that ANYONE who likes Doctor Who should like. He got Katy Manning to star along with him in an episode. She is better known as Iris Wildtyme and Jo Grant.
It annoys me that fans won’t give these a serious listen. Robert Lloyd is a great Doctor and his material is pretty good. He doesn’t write his scripts, by the way.
I, quite simply, love the idea of the Doctor as a nerdy surfer dude from Brisbane who likes a pint instead of tea. He’s funny. He’s dark. He is proof that the Doctor can be ANY ethnicity. Not just from the British Isles!
Oh, it’s not up to Big Finish standards of production, but these are free and made purely for fun by a fan who happens to be a rather big thing in his home country.

I must say I feel very humbled by this review.
I started Illusionist Productions off in 2013 and my cohort and I have been overwhelmed with positive responses since.
