A classic thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Crichton, Sphere is a bravura demonstration of what he does better than anyone: riveting storytelling that combines frighteningly plausible, cutting-edge science and technology with pulse-pounding action and serious chills. The gripping story of a group of American scientists sent to the ocean floor to investigate an alien ship, only to confront a terrifying discovery that defies imagination, Sphere is Crichton prime - truly masterful fiction from the ingenious mind that brought us Prey, State of Fear, and Jurassic Park.
Sphere was made into a film directed by Barry Levinson, which starred Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Ya, old books suck.

@Ramdon:
You were expecting a new book from Michael Crichton, seven years after he died?
December 9th, 2015
I don’t really follow arthors, so I did not know he was dead. I did not even know this book was old until I looked into it. I just thought from the title it was a new release. Not saying the book is bad or to old to read and enjoy. I am reading another book right now. so I cant say if this book sucks. I have downloaded it and plan to read or at least give it a try. most books uploaded by Dallis24 are great. Dallis24 is that sarcasm? it’s hard to tell over the internet. but I don’t think old books suck. just stating that the title gave me the wrong idea. Sorry, and keep up the great work. love most of your uploads. Again thanks for this upload.

Ya, sorry. :( I guess you were just pointing that out to peeps. You know I’m not TRYING to be deceptive but I can’t put everything in the title and honestly it never occurred to me to include that.
When I’m looking for a good audiobook, I decide based on description, audio sample and ratings/reviews…but never looked at dates. Anyway, I read the hard copy and it really keeps you guessing WTF is going on. :)
@Gweilo That’s sad, he wrote so many good books!

I did not think you where trying to deceptive. I should of worded my first post better. Sounds to me you liked the book. So that settles it, it’s going on my must read list. thanks :)

This file cuts out at the very end before the end of the book mid sentence. Did anyone else have that issue?

This is a transparent rip off of The Forbidden Planet — alien technology facilitates the “Id”, or dark subconscious mind to manifest deadly forces. Except its set under the sea.

@Random The older books are great, far better than most new releases as the seldom had so much political agenda tied to them. All the better when they have a more recent audio version made of them. leastwise those released late 60 through 90’s. Political agenda that was hinted at or covertly in 18th, 19th & 1st 1/2 of 20th c. may have been something we (or at least I) overlooked as t was tied to the times. And when not living in those times, they may often be references that escape us.
As for Crichton, All of his books are fantastic, if he had any that were not absolute blockbuster magnificent, they were still so much better than a lot of the mediocre crap being written recently that I can not tell you which ones they might be as I had read them all as they were released, those after 1982-88 & the earlier ones were all read between ‘82-88 with another reading in 90’s & or early 2000’s so can’t recall at all if any dragged on anywhere, definitely not enough to stand out now.
