The first book was OKay….. but with problems.
The second book had scifi magic power creep. And its the normal fantasy type of stuff which the protenant get a boost when they need it but the antagonist do not.
And don’t forgot love and friendship is the only thing that matter. Does it help anything? No, no it doesn’t. But we can redefine words to make it mean loyalty for the short lifers.
No slave isn’t special because she has more power than anyone else in the whole universe its because she is my friend.
The first book hard an okay starting point but off the bat should should have gone in another direction. Giving sub-people (slaves) more power than the ruling class you need to be crazy or have some really controlled plans.
