I guess I’m doing Patton Oswalts PR for him today as I just commented on his other book, Zombie, Spaceship, Wasteland, and feel compelled to do the same here.
It’s funny, to me at least, that the work Patton is best known for is, in my opinion, his worst work.
He is a competent stand up and an ok actor, but between these two books I have become convinced that he has missed his calling as a writer. Especially in this book you will learn that Patton is a serious film historian and cinephile. His writing is funny and insightful, introspective and imaginative.
I give this book a high recommendation if film is an interest, you will be had pressed to find a better, more passionate and interesting dive into the world of fellow sprocket fiends.
