Publisher’s Summary
On the planet of D’ion, Aelix wakes in his family’s tree home to the sound of violent explosions. The long, catastrophic war between his people, the aelars, and the humans is drawing ever-closer to his village.
After nearly getting killed in an ambush near his village, Aelix’s village begins an emergency evacuation. During the evacuation, Aelix runs into a group of soldiers on their way to boot camp where Aelix learns about military training and warfare. The Guardians band together and do the unthinkable: They plot a coup against the king they swore to guard.
Aelix volunteers to seize the royal gems from the palace while the rest of the unit overtakes the king and prepares to defend against the follow-on attack that the humans will surely bring. Aelix hears of clans backing Lavis (former king) and is warned that a civil war might break out. The humans are certainly eager to encourage a civil war, so that they can split the aelars apart and conquer them separately.
Unable to get in contact with the Guardians at the frontline because of the massive storm, Aelix calls for a volunteer army, insisting in an incredible and well received speech that this will not be a war of extermination.

I don’t like judging books by their covers, but this has got to be the exception. Photoshop skills needed, but that synopsis is about as mangled as that poor book cover. Sad.

Downloaded this to see if it was as bad as it looked and sounded.
It is.
All should download this as a baseline for dreadful writing and narration.

LMAO :-) I AM a strong proponent of judging a book by it’s cover (~90% of the time). And I would have to agree that this one leaves one thinking “it can’t be as bad as the cover artists talent would suggest”…. Most of the time that would be incorrect, it can be that bad….
I haven’t gotten around to trying this yet, but I don’t hold off sharing a book just because i think the cover art is a “Bad Sign” :-)
I DL dozens of books a week (ALL sci-fi) and archive them. Rarely do I get to listen to most of them, I just share what I have time to…. there are bound to be duds. It’s funny to see your comments, because that was my first thought. CHEEZZZZY

That is some impressive MS-Paint work!
The cover HAVE to be an internal joke from the author.
No one, no matter how much brain damage, can look at that and say: Ok, looks good. Let’s ship it!
