IS ANYONE going to say RIP to Paul Darrow?
Paul Darrow, the great actor who played Kerr Avon, died in June 2019. He wasn’t young at 78 years. He had been suffering from a host of health problems in the last 5 years of his life, and his death was frankly a mercy. He was forced to amputate both of his legs and had been confined to a wheelchair up until his death.
With both Gareth Thomas and Paul Darrow now dead, I officially think Big Finish should NOT continue this series and let it end. After Gareth died, there was some precedent as Gareth left the original show after only two seasons, essentially rendering this show Avon’s 7.
I’m afraid none of the other actors has what it takes to carry this show anymore. Avon was the clear lead and leader after Gareth left.
Jacqueline Pearce died only a few months ago, and yet Big Finish still decided to try to make the series without Servelan. It was okay, but not the same without her.
Goodbye, Paul. In his honor, please listen to his massive catalog of audiobooks and audio dramas! Kaldor City is probably his most famous and best audio drama, a speculative fiction peace that MAY be Kerr Avon appearing in the Doctor Who universe.
Shame on those fans who have downloaded this without saying something about Paul!
May the spirit of Kerr Avon keep you self-centered, ruthless, and sometimes outright cruel, yet still firmly committed to doing the right thing!

I agree. They should let the series rest in the peace it deserves. One of a kind, it still stands the test of time, and BF SHOULD NOT try to continue without Darrow. RIP Paul. You WILL be missed.
